ATLFF 2026 SCREENING COMMITTEE

Applications for the 2026 ATLFF Screening Committee will open on June 20th

We’re looking for enthusiastic film fans who love independent cinema to evaluate submissions with us. Each year ATLFF must narrow down thousands of submissions to the roughly 150 films that will make up our program, and our screeners are invaluable to this process. The ATLFF Screening Committee is composed of over 100 academics, filmmakers, screeners for other festivals, ATLFF alums, and/or regular ATLFF attendees.

Screeners must:

  • Be able to analyze films critically and objectively with a diverse audience in mind

  • Be aware that genre, merit, and content of submitted films may extend outside of their own preferences, tastes, and/or beliefs.

  • Write qualitative evaluations/opinions of submissions.

  • Watch and review films regularly and in a timely manner (at least 2.5 hours a week during the screening season).

  • Have consistent internet connection for the full term of the screening season

  • Adhere to the committee's rules and strict confidentiality guidelines, which will be provided upon acceptance.

BENEFITS: Screeners can earn a range of rewards all the way up to an All-Access Badge to the 2026 festival depending on the number of films they watch!

SELECTION: Spots are limited, and only serious applicants will be considered. Not everyone who applies will be selected to serve on the committee. All applicants will be notified of their application status on or before the applicant notification date.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: TBA

SCREENING PERIOD: Begins summer 2025, ends November 2025.

FESTIVAL DATES: April 23 - May 3, 2026
