The Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) is one of the region’s largest and longest-running preeminent celebrations of cinema in the United States. Over 20,000 festival attendees enjoy independent narrative, animated, documentary, and experimental films each year, selected from thousands of submissions. The Atlanta Film Society was named “Best Nonprofit in Atlanta” by Creative Loafing readers and its Atlanta Film Festival was named “Best Spring Festival in Atlanta” by Atlanta Journal-Constitution readers, and is a regular on MovieMaker Magazine’s annual “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” list.POSITION DESCRIPTION
Working alongside the Programming team, the Print Traffic Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of exhibition media for all cinema screening events at the Atlanta Film Festival’s 2026 edition. Organizing hundreds of files, reviewing them to be screen-ready, DCP generation, content playlist prep and media delivery to venues are all under the purview of this position. The ultimate goal of the Print Traffic Coordinator is to ensure smooth and high-quality playback at our annual festival, so that the 150+ independent films participating in ATLFF 2026 look and sound their absolute best.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to Programming Director, in collaboration with other team members including Programmers and Operations Director.
Receive, document and catalogue film exhibition files and DCP media from filmmakers participating in ATLFF 2026
Receive and organize caption media from film teams.
Create DCP media for films that do not already have their own DCP.
Execute Quality Control (QC) and in-venue testing on film media in advance of the festival.
Update Print Traffic database as films are received and QC’d.
Report regularly to programming team regarding missing film media, and communicate promptly and professionally with filmmakers to resolve technical issues with their provided material
Secure any necessary equipment for managing and QCing film files and creating DCP media.
Receive pre-show media (bumpers, trailers, etc) from other ATLFS departments and integrate these into show playlists.
Distribute all incoming digital files to designated hard drives and ensure their delivery and ingestion at proper screening venues.
Operate projection for screenings and events when projectionist isn’t available, ensuring that all screenings are covered by projection staff.
Serve as a tech point person during the festival and be on call during screenings to troubleshoot any technical issues.
Upload media for any films participating in ATLFF’s virtual festival to our secure streaming platform, and test streaming for function.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with creating, organizing, ingesting and playing DCP (Digital Cinema Package) as well as file-based projection.
Conversance with Google Docs and Airtable.
Applicants should be media-management savvy and familiar with file systems on both Mac OS X and Windows platforms, working with quicktime and mpeg files, and using transcoding and playlist software.
Above-average organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively.
Proactive, communicative, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Film Festival or cinema experience and an interest in film/the arts preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license.
TIMEFRAME & HOURS
This is a seasonal position that lasts between February and May 2026. The Print Traffic Coordinator is expected to work on some evenings and weekends to accommodate venue schedules for QC and testing, and to be on-site for all days of the 2026 Atlanta Film Festival (April 23 through May 3, 2026).
