Héctor M. Valdez (1989, Dominican Republic) has been making films since 2009, when he directed and produced his first short film: “El Fallo”. Upon graduating from McGill University in Montreal, QC, he returned to the Dominican Republic in 2012 to shoot his first feature length film: “Al Sur de la Inocencia”. The film screened at various festivals, including the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam, Chicago Latino Film Festival and the AFI Latin American Film Festival. In 2014, he partners with fellow producer José Ramón Alamá to create Bou Group: a film production company based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Together, they have produced the films “Todos los hombres son iguales” (2016) and his latest directorial efforts, “Melocotones” (2017) and “Nadie Muere en Ambrosía” and "Malpaso", currently in post production and set for release in 2019.
