First Wave of Narrative Features Announced

We are just two months out from the 2014 Atlanta Film Festival, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring these films to our Atlanta audience. We are pleased to announce the first wave of narrative features—an incredibly diverse group of films, ranging from local filmmakers and up-and-coming American indie auteurs to hyper-imaginative animation and foreign language festival hits. Readjusted 2014 Screenplay Announcement Dates Due to Weather

As Artistic Director, I want to personally apologize for the delay in sending this update to everyone that submitted to the 2014 Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition. The first few weeks of January are a busy time as we're working on festival programming, festival operations, starting new interns, bringing on seasonal staff for the festival, as well as working on year-round events.

Due to the recent extreme cold, our offices on Georgia State University's campus were closed January 6 and January 7. Meetings and phone calls planned for January 4 and January 5 related to film and screenplay competition submissions (including receiving and reviewing updated judges scores) were also cancelled.

Accordingly, it took a few days to realign multiple project timelines and staff schedules. Below are the new announcement dates for the 2014 ATLFF Screenplay Competition.

REVISED 2014 ATLFF SCREENPLAY ANNOUNCEMENT DATES

January 23 - Announce 12 to 15 Screenplay Competition Finalists
January 27 and January 28 - Screenplay Finalists Interviews
January 31 - Announce 3 Winners Participating in Screenplay Retreat

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. New dates are reflected on the ATLFF Screenplay Competition page and we emailed all submitters with the new dates the afternoon of January 9.
