Atlanta Film Festival 365 is a year-round, non-profit media arts organization that specializes in filmscreenings, educational support and film and media events, including an annual screenplay competition and the Atlanta Film Festival, held each April.
Our internships give interns a well-rounded experience and knowledge of producing a film festival, as well as experience working for a non-profit, member-based, media arts organization. Interns assist with administrative duties, membership, and event planning and coordination.
Basic Requirements for all Interns:
- Must be at least 18 years-old (internships for High School Seniors available on a case by case basis)
- Must work a minimum of 10 hours per week (office hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
- Must be available to work a select number of after-hours events (some events are off-site). Depending on the nature of the event, hours worked may be applied to minimum hours required
- Must work a minimum of 3 months (12 weeks)
- Internships are unpaid
- Interns should be energetic, outgoing and enjoy working with the public. Interns should have excellent written and oral communications skills, phone manners and organizational abilities.
Internship duties include, but are not limited to:
- Interns should be Mac & PC literate
- Interns answer all office phone calls, so verbal customer service and phone etiquette is essential
- Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel required
- Experience with Google Email and Documents preferred
- Assists in organizing and communicating with volunteers
- Assist in staging and scheduling of upcoming workshops and events
- Capable of navigating www.withoutabox.com database for 2012 festival submissions
- Assists in organizing and communicating with screening committees
- Assists in maintaining and updating website
- Assists in maintaining ATLFF presence on the web, including social media
- Assists in writing basic event announcements
- Assists in creating marketing materials including fliers, posters and other ancillaries (proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator preferred, but not required)
- Assist in documenting events, including some filmming and photography
- Assists in maintaining ATLFF membership database
- Assists in member recruitment
- Maintenance of prior festival archives and storage
