THE ROAD TO 100 NEW MEMBERS, $3700
3 MONTHS OF EVENTS FREE FOR MEMBERS CELEBRATING OUR MEMBERS
September 19 Update: 39 New Members, 61 to Go | Money Raised $0
For four decades two groups have sustained and driven Atlanta Film Festival 365: Filmmakers and Members. Without them we couldn’t have created 37 years of memories, impacting and inspiring thousands of Atlantans through the power of film. It’s because of our engaged members and filmmakers that we work year-round on the workshops, screenings and networking.
In that spirit we kick-off our 2013 Member and Donation Campaign with 3 months of events as we aim to signup 100 new members and raise $3700 by October 2012. By increasing our membership and doing a little bit of fundraising we can bring our members more screenings, fund the programs that educate and entertain, and we can continue to lead the community in creative & cultural discovery through the moving image.
We not only want our current members to renew, but we REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope that if you aren’t a member you’ll sign-up and join in. We also hope you’ll answer the call and donate what you can. We’re celebrating 37 years of the Atlanta Film Festival in 2013 so we’re asking for donations of $37. If you can only give $5 that still will help us bring in a filmmaker, invest in new technology and just plain keep the lights on (it takes a lot of candles to see at night). And if you can give more than $37 we won’t stop you.
August 1 – Member Screening: Ruby Sparks
We’re hosting a sneak peak of this heartwarming fantasy film from the filmmakers of LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE,
A young author creates a character based on his dream girl, and gets the surprise of his life when she turns out to be real. Celebrated novelist Calvin (Paul Dano) used to be the darling of the literary scene; now he’s wondering if he’ll ever actually write another book. His inspiration at an all-time low, Calvin creates Ruby (screenwriter/co-star Zoe Kazan) and the ideas start flowing. A week later, when Ruby shows up in Calvin’s apartment completely smitten, the lonely writer begins to fear he’s losing his mind. Elliott Gould, Chris Messina, and Annette Bening also star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
